Thoughts on introspection and reflecting on life.
Start by taking a “fearless inventory” and look at the scope of our lives. Make amends where possible and let go of the rest. Make a gratitude list down to the smallest thing.
Look at the hard times and challenges. Everyone goes through inconveniences and disappointments because those are inevitable and universal. Instead, identify the losses and challenges that feel personal, are repeated, and difficult to resolve. Chances are those challenges are related to deeply held, erroneous, and unexamined beliefs taught to us in childhood. These erroneous beliefs may come from society, religion, or the family dynamic, with the pressure to conform.
These beliefs seem to have something to do with what people think they’re allowed to do or what they deserve, and the shame that holds people back or leads them to self-sabotage. If on some deep level you feel you are not allowed to be happy then life will be an uphill struggle.
I think once these deep-seated beliefs are excavated and held into the light insights will happen and momentum goes forward.
