It was a struggle to get out of bed this morning because it was so darn cold. Our cat certainly didn’t want us to leave the nest.

Now the rain has returned. Will have to go out again at some point ugh. We need the rain and I hope there will be a good snowpack, but ugh. No matter how well I suit up, I always feel damp and chilled in this time of weather.

Had some interesting dreams last night about living in another timeline or parallel earth. We were all happy over there.

With the liminal feeling, I lose track of time. Will get re-acquainted with the calendar tomorrow.

Tried to take a walk during a break in the rain but wasn’t dressed warm enough. Spent the rest of the day reading with kitty on my lap. I finished Belladonna by Adalyn Grace and enjoyed it.

We’ll probably leave the decorations up until the first week of January. I like decorating; I do not like taking decorations down.
Once again, hooray for the rain! β˜”οΈ 🌧️

Started late afternoon yesterday and has continued since with varying intensity. Did the grocery shopping when the rain was light but experienced a downpour during another task. But that’s great! A good rain like this is a rare treat in the region. Even the desert is getting rain.

Spending the rest of the weekend indoors and working on photography and music projects.

Kitty has the right idea:

Coffee, breakfast, and contemplating the day. Also, contemplating the rest of the year which is like what, 6 weeks? 😬
  • Working on a journal to think (again) about the second Saturn return.
  • Still early but think I’ll dig up the Xmas cards and decorations and start the gift list. It’s been a long year and I need a mood lifter.
  • Santa Ana conditions have returned and it’s supposed to be almost 90. Ugh. I was enjoying the cooler weather. Even though I’ve been here for a long time it still feels strange to have a blazing hot sun in November.
  • Our cat is doing well and so spoiled! She has toys, blankies, pillows, treats, and still wants more. 😼
  • The return to reading print books in bed before going to sleep instead of screen time is going well. I have a bagful to return to the library today. Another stack on my nightstand that I can’t wait to dig into.
  • Catching up on the Skibidi drama and now I don’t know what to think. The theories and speculations are flying high and wild and it’s getting to be too much. Ok, time for an extended break from the show. Let DFB figure out what he wants to do with his work. Give him time, and then see what happens with the series in the long run.
  • Time to focus on other fandoms and speaking of which, I miss A03. Want to head back over there and catch up.

ETA: my goofy-ahh Skibidi-tuition strikes again. I post then and then DFB drops the trailer. And it was alright, yes, but I still think I need a break.

Having a weird moment here…

Like yeah, AI sucks. They’re putting it into everything and it’s ruining people’s ability to think for themselves and create things.

That saying about how we wanted AI to run the vacuum and wash the dishes while we create, instead of the other way around, holds true.

Yet once in a while I come across something that feels like an ok use of AI, in particular these AI cat videos. I fell into that algorithm last night and well, I enjoyed these videos while at the same time knowing how much AI sucks.

What really got me is how sweet and wholesome these videos are: mom and dad cats caring for their kittens, gently taught lessons about manners and social skills, and all kinds of home cooked meals enjoyed in cozy settings.

It’s, it’s… like a better world than we humans are experiencing.

This is some kind of bad trip: I’m watching videos created by artificial intelligence to recapture the nostalgia of my 70s childhood because the current era is terrible.

It’s so weird.

I wish people could be nicer to each other again. When AI cartoon animals behave better than we do, well, that should give us pause (paws).
