Another scorcher today. Good day to stay in and work on art and music projects. Some regions will get up to 120-128F. 😓😓😓 I remember the days when it was “only” 100F in July.
While I work, I’m meditating on how a soul goes through life and the roads we take.
There are choices in life. We can come to terms with our flaws and live peacefully and mindfully. Or we can make an effort to change and improve, knowing it will be a journey with struggles and setbacks, but worth it nonetheless.
But too many take the not so good options. They repress their emotions or lash out.
Emotional repression and denial are not healthy. People who numb themselves and deny what’s going on risk losing touch with their values, morals, and aspirations. And lashing out and raging with anger and fear makes life miserable for self and others.
I’m also exhausted with pessimists whose first, immediate reaction to everything and anything is either “We’re doomed” or “There’s nothing you can do about it.”
Yes, I understand times are rough. But knee-jerk pessimism only drags things down even more. We are never entirely doomed and there is always something positive we can do, no matter how small, in any situation.
