While I appreciate the break from the monsoon type rain, I feel uneasy about these extreme temperatures. Like it feels weird that we’re sweltering at 80 F while the rest of the country is in the single digits.

This morning I finished reading Shadowbahn by Steve Erickson. I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Not a book to be judged by traditional narrative expectations. I liked it as a work of experimental fiction and as a collection of thought pieces. It gave me much to think about what 9/11 means in our memory, the remaining wisps of Boomer nostalgia, and where post 9/11 society has headed.

Not an easy, light read. I’d recommend to readers who like to be challenged, who like experimentation with form, who are willing to contemplate recent history, and who can relate to Boomer pop culture references.
