Yesterday I did something I haven’t done in a long, long time: basically spent most of the day watching tv. It’s been years, maybe even a decade since I’ve done that!

I wanted to spend more time outside but too my frustration, it was too hot. Which is wild to say for the Northern Hemisphere in February, but here we are.

When I returned, I turned on all the fans, and watched:

• A silly old movie
  


• The Superb Owl


• The Olympics

And that will probably fill my quote of television for the next, oh, decade. The last actual network television show I liked was Adventure Time and from then on, not much on tv appealed to me. I moved on to YouTube, podcasts, and music streaming.

So watching this much special events entertainment on a tv screen was nostalgic. I grew up watching sports events and for a moment, especially in these stressful times, I wanted to recapture that feeling.

And I did! Maybe the game wasn’t the most exciting, but I loved Bad Bunny’s halftime show. So much joy, warmth, musicality, and fun.

Afterward, the figure skating was awesome. The grace and strength the men and women demonstrate while going through their routines is inspiring.

Somewhat cooler today. Supposedly we’ll get rain tomorrow? That would be fine, clear out the dust that’s accumulated with the dry weather.
