Something that’s different about these times is the nihilism, the hopeless, and the apathy. I sure did not experience or observe that when I was growing up and into adulthood.

The pandemic, man. It did something to us beyond physical illness.

And, how can we make things more positive?

That would require enough people wanting to make this effort. And that’s the hitch: if you can’t find enough people willing to want something better and willing to put in the effort, then you’re SOL.

It starts with the small things. We can’t solve every problem right away but we can find small ways to chip away at problems, which eventually leads to an answer or at least a way of living with the problem… until we grow out of it.

That’s a Jungian perspective. Jung thought that we didn’t necessarily solve problems but grew out of them. I can see how that happens. But still, you have to put some effort into it.

I don’t know. I do what I can but yeah, it can feel like a tiny spark in overwhelming darkness.
