solarpsychedelicLife is a choice between ego or soul.
The ego is obsessed with pride, status, and appearances and needs to look down on others to justify its delusion of moral or social superiority to be displayed in the outer life.
The soul is concerned with peace, creativity, and the inner life.
Our society has reached a critical mass of sensationalism and the cynicism and irony poisoning that go with it. This cynical mindset has done too good a job at making everything either meaningless or a problem not worth solving.
The antidote to nihilism is enthusiasm.
It’s ok to be passionate about something. It’s especially ok to be passionate about art, music, literature, theater, movies, history, philosophy, anything that improves the quality of human life and the human soul.
You know, the humanities.
And it’s ok to admire and be inspired by enthusiastic people. We need to stop with the middle school attitudes that go with cynicism and irony poisoning. It’s tiresome.
Because life itself needs us to be here and now and to have some enthusiasm for it. Otherwise we will not survive or at least not survive with lives worth living.
