It isn’t only that we shifted from a print to digital culture. Reading is still reading regardless of actual physical device used to access the information.

No, it’s the shift from a print to a visual culture that changed us to our detriment.

A culture that is based on print and values literacy is usually more educated or at least more thoughtful.

A culture based on visual images at the expense of literacy, though, well, that’s part of worshipping a golden calf without understanding there’s only a coat of cheap paint on that calf.

I think The Book has some words about that, if people bother to read anymore.
