I’ve been busy in all kinds of ways although there are two main topics at hand:
I need to make a significant change in my working life and am looking into how to go about it. After doing things a certain way for a certain number of years, my routine is getting stale which is not good for my spirits. I can schedule my activities well enough but too much routine takes the joy out of life.
I’m also taking care of the newest member of the family, a feral cat we just adopted. I'm now a cat mom! For posting purposes, I’ll call her Ms. Queen Kitty.
Ms. Queen Kitty was rescued from an industrial park where she was the queen of a whole gang of cats roaming about. Based on the somewhat friendly behavior of some in this group, we think they’re descended from a pet abandoned during the pandemic. She was among the friendliest and we thought she had a good chance to be domesticated. Mr. Solar found a foster network to trap her and start the socialization process. About a month later, we were able to adopt her.
So far, so good, although she’s got her quirks. She’ll be friendly one moment, then crawl under the bed to sulk for hours. She certainly knows the sound of an opening can and will gallop out to the kitchen, but when I turn on the fan, she zooms back to her hiding spot. And speaking of that, come 1 and 2 AM, she does get the zoomies.
