I’ve been online for 35 years, which is plenty of experience with the biggest revolution in communication since the Gutenberg press.
I was an early adapter and evangelist for the internet and now… I admit I’ve kind of soured on it.
To be more specific: I still think the internet as a tool of communication, task management, and data organization is still good. I’m glad I was here for it.
But the combination of reality tv, social media, and smartphones was our undoing.
Sometimes I wish the internet had remained with us nerds and our niche interests. But that horse left the stable a long time ago.
So, where do we go from here? People who care need to start thinking about this.
