Because of my background, Memorial Day becomes a focus on World War II.
I am deeply thankful for the service and sacrifice of those who fought back against the forces of fascism and imperialism. Democracy is difficult at times and requires rationality and compromise, but it is the the better way.
In memory of those who gave their lives in service, the Greatest Generation, we the inheritors should not take peace and freedom for granted, nor throw them away for the sake of cheap conveniences and fascist wannabes.
