Kicked off the holiday weekend by sleeping in and then crashing on the couch with Ms. Kitty. Catching up now to get my day started. Cleaning, errands, then to the library to look for movies to check out.

-- It's Canada Day, formerly Dominion Day, which didn't become a big thing until the Mulroney administration. Now 40 years later, people are questioning the celebrations to call attention to indigenous/First Nations rights.
-- Pride Month wraps up with the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, which gave momentum to the LGBTQ movement.
-- A few safety tips about pets and fireworks.
Between the heat and the constant onslaught of news about our unhappy political situation, I'm exhausted. I wish things could be better and we could all find joy again. Life is too short for this much collective tension.
