While Sgt. Peppers is often regarded as the psychedelic album, Revolver might be more groundbreaking.
The last track is a wonderfully strange aural hallucinogenic moment with Lennon proclaiming psychonaut revelations of consciousness as if from a mountain top.
Lennon was influenced by Timothy Leary and I also hear a play on a Churchill speech in there; Lennon liked to pun (as does the subconscious).
I remember the first time I heard this song because it was my introduction to the psychedelic mindset and changed my life.
