• RIP Gene Shalit! I grew up with his movie reviews along with Siskel & Ebert, and Paulina Kael in the old days before the internet. And I even had a brief encounter in person with him: he drove past my mother and me in a NYC parking lot.


• RIP David Hockney! I once stumbled on a LACMA exhibit of his paintings.
