My heart goes out to the teachers who want to teach and the young people who want to learn but have to contend with cost-cutting administrations.
If the school needs to make a basic information packet and they wanted to do it cheaply, well, why not find a volunteer who can source public domain or fair use documents and put them together?
There are many discussions about the Orwell vs. Huxley vs. Bradbury takes of dystopia. So far it seems to be the Huxley-Bradbury model: occupy people's minds with addictions, trivialities, and downright nonsense and they will lose the ability to discern truth from lies.
