After the sleepy comfort of May gray, it’s May hot—up to 90 F. Ugh, not ready!
Notes:
- I finished Summer and the City, the second book in the Carrie diaries series. Fun read, although very different in tone and style from the first book. The first book was a thoughtful YA coming of age story with an epiphany. The second book was a picaresque, with Carrie’s moods, thoughts, and activities skittering all over Manhattan.
- Despite my misgivings about the quality of clothing in thrift stores, the stores are a great source for paperbacks. With the library, library books sales, thrift stores, used bookstores, and of course the Libby and Hoopla apps, reading has become an affordable hobby again.
- We’ve had some gorgeous sunsets, but unfortunately because of the fires.
- No big plans for the holiday weekend other than reading, organizing my YouTube lists, and photography in the park. Too hot and poor air quality for hiking.
