Thoughts from a dream I had last night:
What does it mean to be an elder? Seems to me that when we reach the 50s, we’ve earned the right to be authentic, to let go of performance and pleasing others.
We’ve earned the right to express an authentic self instead of clinging to the masks and performances of youth.
Elderhood and authenticity are not invitations to be rude or uncivil; authenticity is recognizing our truth, understanding who we are, and building a life around that truth.
